Solar Thermal Energy Magaldi (STEM)

Solar Thermal Energy Magaldi (STEM)

The STEM-CSP (Solar Thermo-Electric Magaldi) is a patented CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) technology

which use a mirror configuration to concentrate the sun’s light energy onto a receiver and convert it into heat.

The heat can then be used to create steam to drive a turbine to produce electrical power or used as industrial process heat.

The Magaldi concentrated solar power plant integrate a TES (Thermal Energy Storage) system directly integrated in the receiver that is used to generate electricity during cloudy periods and also even when solar radiation is no longer available (eg. hours after sunset or before sunrise). This feature makes STEM-CSP a flexible source of renewable energy that can be dispatched on-demand.
