MGTES is a long life and innovative Thermal Energy Storage (TES) solution
developed and consolidated by Magaldi in recent years, capable of playing an important role in the global decarbonization and energy optimization of industrial process.
MGTES is a high temperature TES featured by fluidized bed of solid particles capable of receiving energy in the form of both electricity and heat trough immersed elements. It stores energy and releases it when is most needed.
MGTES technology is a modular system that provides flexibility in the system in wich is integrated and represents a Long Thermal Storage solution.
Power to power applications
MGTES technology is designed to absorb surplus energy from renewable power plants or directly from the electricity grid.
Green heat production
The International Energy Agency (IEA) claims that heat accounts for approx. 74% of the industrial sector‘s total energy demand. Around 48% of the total heat needed in industry is for high-temperature applications and this sector is responsible for about 22% of global CO2 emissions. Out of these, 40% (about 10% of total emissions) comes from fossil fuels.
Increased flexibility in thermoelectric power plants
Thanks to the stringent decarbonization policies, a strong increase in the penetration of renewables within the electricity system is expected
