MGTES - Industrial-scale plant

First Industrial-Scale
MGTES Plant

for a food processing company

Installed in Buccino (Salerno, Italy), the first industrial-scale MGTES system supplies clean, reliable steam to I.Gi. SpA’s vegetable oil refinery - cutting emissions and boosting energy independence.
Proven through over a decade of research, rigorous field trials, and real-world operation, MGTES is now a trusted, scalable, and commercially viable solution for industrial decarbonization.

project experience

POWER SOURCE
The MGTES system is charged by electricity from the Magaldi factory’s rooftop photovoltaic plant, supplemented by grid power when electricity cost is low. This flexibility ensures green and cost-effective charging of the thermal battery.

STEAM PRODUCTION
MGTES produces up to 1,08 t/h of steam at 184° C, 10 barg around the clock. This steam is used for critical refining processes such as heating, neutralization, decolorization, and deodorization - essential steps in palm oil production - reducing fossil fuel consumption and cutting emissions.
