Chairman

Chevalier/Chev Mario Magaldi

Cav. Magaldi is the Chairman of Magaldi Group and the driving force behind the transformation of his father’s company, founded in 1929 in Buccino (SA), into a global leader in advanced process and conveying solutions across a diverse range of industries (steel, metalcasting, aluminum recycling, cement, among others). More recently, he has spearheaded the Group’s expansion into innovative thermal energy storage solutions.

Under his vision for international growth, Magaldi Group has established multiple subsidiaries worldwide, including Magaldi Technologies LLC in the USA, Magaldi Power Pty Ltd in Australia, Magaldi Power GmbH in Germany, Magaldi Power India Private Ltd, Magaldi Power S.de R.L. de C.V. in Mexico, and Magaldi Green Energy Middle East.

Letizia Magaldi

Managing Director - Global Marketing and Business & Sales Development

Letizia Magaldi

Letizia oversees her team’s organizational, financial, and strategic activities, while coordinating corporate development and defining the company’s communication strategy and agenda. She is actively engaged in building and maintaining relationships with national and international institutions, authorities, clients, and industry associations, with the aim of promoting innovative technologies and advancing policies in the renewable energy sector.

Since 2021, she has served as President of the Economic Association of Mexico in Italy, and since 2020, she has been Censor Advisor at the Bank of Italy in the Rome CDM office. She is also a member of the Market Advisory Board of SolarPACES, the technology collaboration program of the International Energy Agency (IEA), and participates in the Doctoral College in Engineering and Science for Energy and Industry (XXXVI cycle) at La Sapienza University of Rome.

In addition, since 2018, she has served as Vice President of the Fondazione Donna Regina – Madre Museum of Contemporary Art in Naples.

Letizia holds a Law degree from the University of Salerno. She also completed a postgraduate specialization in SME Management at SDA Bocconi in Milan in 2002, and in 2011, a second postgraduate specialization in Brand Management and Communication at the European Institute of Design in Milan (Italy).

Massimiliano Masi

General Manager Magaldi Middle East

Massimiliano Masi

Massimiliano is the General Manager of Magaldi Middle East, where he leads the strategic development of Magaldi Green Energy’s global renewable energy business and oversees the growth and deployment of STEM and MGTES technologies. He has over 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the international energy market, with deep expertise in the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables, circular economy and sustainability initiatives, and strategic partnerships.

Throughout his career, he has held senior roles in strategy, sales, and finance at IREN and the A2A Group, before becoming CFO of Edison and CEO of Edipower. In 2019, he moved to Dubai to join the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as Partner & Associate Director, serving as a Power and Utilities expert for the Middle East. He began his career at Arthur Andersen as a management consultant specializing in the Power & Utilities sector.

Massimiliano holds a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan.

Raffaello Magaldi

Managing Director – Global Operations & Product Development

Raffaello Magaldi

Raffaello is actively involved in the development and commercialization of STEM and MGTES technologies. He works closely with the R&D team to define product configurations, drive innovation projects, establish partnerships, and shape supply chain strategies and market development. Since 2010, he has served as a member of the Magaldi Group Board.

Raffaello joined Magaldi Power in 2013 as Production Controller. He was promoted to Deputy Plant Manager in 2015 and became Deputy COO in 2016. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering, a postgraduate specialization in Managerial Development Programs from Bocconi University in Milan, and, in 2021, completed an Executive specialization in Circular Economy at Luiss Business School in Rome.

Simone Savastano

Area Sales Manager

Simone Savastano

Simone is responsible for implementing strategies to launch STEM and MGTES technologies in global markets and for developing effective action and growth plans. In pursuing the division’s objectives, he remains strongly committed to building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers and partners, understanding global market dynamics, and engaging with key institutions.

Throughout his career, Simone has gained extensive expertise in international contracting procedures within the power sector. Since 2005, he has served as Sales Director for Mexico, South Africa, Turkey, Mongolia, India, and China.

From 1999 to 2003, he worked at Alenia Aeronautica (Finmeccanica Group) as Sales Department Manager, Program Manager, and Program Office.

He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cagliari (Italy) and a Master’s degree from the University of Glasgow (UK), where he completed a thesis based on an experimental project for petrochemical plants.

Paolo Magaldi

CEO - Magaldi Power SpA

Paolo Magaldi

Paolo is the CEO of Magaldi Power SpA. With over 25 years of solid experience, he leads the company’s international expansion and oversees the development and production of customized solutions for a wide range of industries, including steel mills, foundries, aluminum recycling facilities, cement plants, waste-to-energy plants, biomass facilities, and solid-fuel power plants.

He serves on the Boards of Magaldi’s international subsidiaries in the United States (Magaldi Technologies LLC), Australia (Magaldi Power Pty), India (Magaldi Power India Pvt Ltd), Germany (Magaldi Power GmbH), and Mexico (Magaldi Power S. de R.L. de C.V.).

Paolo earned a Master’s degree in Small and Medium Enterprise Management (MPI) from Bocconi University in Milan, where he also completed Executive Management and Marketing courses. In 2017, he attended the Executive Program for Growing Companies at Stanford Graduate School of Business (Stanford, CA).

Since 2020, he has served as Vice President of Amafond, the Italian Association of Foundry Suppliers.

Fulvio Bassetti

Technology & Energy Market Director

Fulvio Bassetti

Fulvio is the Technology & Energy Market Director. He joined the Magaldi Group in 1993 and initially led the Technical Department, overseeing the development of the company’s technologies from basic research to detailed engineering, as well as promotion, marketing, and operational efficiency. His leadership played a key role in establishing Magaldi as a global leader in high-temperature material handling solutions.

In 2006, he founded and directed the Technical Sales Department, focusing on the worldwide expansion and implementation of Magaldi’s innovative high-temperature material handling systems. He has also managed the company’s intellectual property and technology promotion activities.

Since 2013, he has been a member of the ASME PTC4 “Fired Steam Generators – Performance Test Code” committee.
In 2017, he took charge of Magaldi’s R&D Department, guiding its transition toward renewable energy technologies and thermal energy storage, with particular emphasis on the innovative STEM and MGTES solutions.

Fulvio is a principal investigator in several funded research projects and the author of numerous technical papers on high-temperature material handling and thermal energy storage, published in leading international journals and conference proceedings.
He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with honors from the University of Salerno (Italy).

Rocco Sorrenti

Director - Product Development & Industrialization

Rocco Sorrenti

Rocco is a Chemical Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the power generation sector, with a strong foundation in mechanical and process engineering. His expertise encompasses combustion system design, equipment specification, performance evaluation, and testing for complex power plants, where he collaborates with leading boiler manufacturers.

He has also served as R&D Director in the BMH (Bulk Material Handling) division of the Magaldi Group, gaining extensive experience in managing high-temperature materials, including bottom ash, cement clinker, and scrap. Throughout his career, Rocco has led numerous projects in coal-fired power plants, including waste-to-energy, biomass, and concentrated solar power (CSP) projects.

From 2014 to 2021, he served as Technical Director and Production Manager of an organic waste composting facility, where he played a key role in the design and construction of one of Italy’s first anaerobic digestion plants for biomethane production.

Since 2022, Rocco has been Product Development & Industrial Director at Magaldi Green Energy, leading a multidisciplinary engineering team. He is responsible for overseeing technical specifications, managing the engineering design review process, and supporting the construction, assembly, and commissioning of the MGTES project.

Daniele Coppola

Vice Sales Director

Daniele Coppola

Daniele is an experienced Sales & Business Development Manager with extensive expertise in the industrial and energy sectors, focusing on market penetration and client relations within the electro-thermal energy storage industry. With a career spanning over two decades, he has held key roles at Magaldi, driving sales strategies and managing complex sales processes in international markets.

Daniele began his career at Magaldi Power S.p.A. in 2004 and currently serves as Vice Sales Director for the Thermal Energy Storage division.

He holds a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering with honors from the University of Naples “Federico II” and has completed a professional master’s program in Logistics and Transportation Management.

Umberto serves as Area Sales Manager at Magaldi.

Before joining the company in 2013, he was General Manager of an Italian ceramics manufacturing group. 
He holds a degree in Economics from the University of Leicester (UK) and the University of Valencia (Spain).

Giulio Lolli

Head of Regulatory Affairs & Technoeconomics

Giulio Lolli

Giulio is responsible for regulatory affairs, energy market modeling, and business development for industrial customers in North-Western Europe. He has over 15 years of experience in the chemical industry, where he developed numerous Power2X projects. Over the past five years, he has led the team managing the energy supply for one of the world’s leading chemical companies.

His track record includes several Lighthouse Projects, such as major corporate PPAs from onshore and offshore wind and solar PV, LNG supply agreements, and breakthrough battery projects. Giulio has a deep understanding of the levers in highly regulated energy markets and the impact of political goals and decisions on them.

He is deeply committed to the energy transition and to addressing the challenges of hard-to-abate industries competing on a global scale, with a focus on achieving industrial decarbonization most cost-effectively. He has demonstrated that decarbonization and cost reduction can go hand in hand.

Outside of work, Giulio is an avid biker and sailor, championing sustainable transportation.

He earned a degree in Chemical Engineering with honors from Politecnico di Milano, then moved to the United States, where he obtained an MBA and PhD and co-founded a nanotechnology startup still producing materials for the electronics industry. Later, he moved to Germany to join the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society under Prof. Robert Schlögl, current president of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He then held progressively senior roles at Bayer in Leverkusen and Covestro, ultimately leading the global energy group and guiding an energy-intensive industry through the global energy crisis.
