In conjunction with the SolarPACES conference (October 8-11, 2024) in Rome, Magaldi Green Energy is pleased to welcome you for an exclusive look inside our state-of-the-art factory in Buccino, Salerno (Italy).
This event will bring together renewable energy experts, industry professionals, and researchers from around the world to explore our cutting-edge Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage (MGTES) system.

MGTES is a worldwide patented and groundbreaking high-temperature system for thermal energy storage based on a fluidized sand bed. Charged with renewable electrical energy, the system stores clean energy to release high-temperature thermal energy on demand.
MGTES will help achieve the decarbonization of industrial processes and power systems on the path to sustainable development. Alpha 4 pilot plant is our latest achievement in this technology.

What you will see

The tour will focus on the Alpha 4 pilot plant, the first Thermal Energy Storage (TES) system utilizing a fluidized bed of solid particles. Powered by electricity from renewable energy sources, it stores up to 4 MWh of thermal energy to produce steam at 200 °C.
You will have the opportunity to gain early access to operating data through a series of presentations and a guided tour. Our technical experts will be on hand to provide in-depth insights and answer any questions you may have.

Where

The MGTES pilot plant is in operation at the Magaldi factory in Buccino, located approximately 62 km from Salerno (Italy).
Magaldi will take care of your transfer to Buccino and back.
All you need to do is ensure your reservation for the plant tour.

When

Magaldi's dedication to renewable energy includes advancements in CST (Concentrated Solar Thermal) technologies.
At the A2A Group's Integrated Energy hub in Filippo del Mela, Sicily (Italy), Magaldi implemented its STEM® (Solar Thermo-Electric Magaldi) technology. This pioneering CST system with TES (Thermal Energy Storage) captures solar energy and transforms it into thermal energy for immediate use or later extraction.
Notably, STEM® is the first CSP system worldwide to utilize a fluidized sand bed for thermal energy storage.
